Genevieve Murray

Genevieve A. Murray, 90, of Appleton passed peacefully from this life into eternal life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Rennes Health Care Center in Appleton. Genevieve was born in Chicago on July 13, 1932, to the late Walter and Genevieve (Waymel) Crane. She was united in marriage to McGarry “Mac” Murray and the couple enjoyed many years together until Mac’s passing in 1994. Together, Genevieve and Mac owned and operated a resort, Buckhorn Lodge, in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin for many years. Genevieve was a faithful, loving and caring woman. She was a strong Christian. She loved the Lord, her family and country.
Genevieve is survived by her family: Dennis (Denise) Murray, McGarry “Mick” (Deanna) Murray, John (Erin) Murray, Martin (Anne) Murray, Thomas (Nancy) Murray, Carol (Ken Waldron) Murray and Timothy Murray; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren with one on the way, and a brother, Jim Crane. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 siblings: Rose Hartmann, Jack Crane, Margaret Yngve, and Tom Crane.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 27th at Countryside Funeral Home - 950 S Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL. Friends may visit at Countryside Funeral Home from 9:00AM -until the time of service. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Elgin, IL.
