Gary L. Deaton, 73, of South Elgin, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025. Gary was an Air Force Veteran, avid New York Yankees fan, and golfer. He was the founder of Landscape Resources Inc. (LRI) and is listed in the Library of Congress for his stabilitator invention. Gary enjoyed flying airplanes, but most of all coaching his children in baseball and softball. Beloved husband of 42 years to Michele (nee Faklaris); loving father of Jeremy (Rocio) Deaton, Shane (Kristen) Deaton, Zachary (Julie) Deaton, and Samantha (Erik) Fischer; cherished grandfather of Ethan, Ty, Jerzie, Ollie, Jayce, Kennedy, Kinsley, Grayson, Remi, and Elora; dear brother of Steve (Christine) Deaton, Wanda (Roger Obradovic) Deaton, and Lori Deaton; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; proud master of his cat Magic. Cremation private at Countryside Crematory. Visitation Friday, January 31 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with memorial service at 5:30pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at State St.), South Elgin. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org are appreciated. Info (847)289-8054
