Gary Andrekus

Gary R. Andrekus, 62, of Bloomingdale, died Thursday, May 7, 2015. Born July 3, 1952 in Chicago. He was the son of Anthony and Mary (nee Knafl). Gary was an outdoors enthusiast and loved music. He liked Star Wars and was quite the “MacGyver”. Gary was a fortunate recipient of a heart transplant and will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include children Keith (Jen), Neal, Dale (Dan) Worthem, Steve (Katie), Melissa, Cori (Dan Sima), Jacqui, Charlotte Morris, Janis Mitchell and Michelle Nunamaker; grandchildren Devin, Drake and Fauna; brothers Terry (Lura) and Bob (Debbie) and special friend and former wife Shirley, and former wife Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial visitation 3:00p.m. until time of service 7:00p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Cremation at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
