Frederick Mccollim

Frederick “Fred” D. McCollim, Sr., 75, of South Elgin passed away August 14, 2016. Fred was the beloved husband of Penny (nee Miller) for 44 years; loving father of Heather, Carrie (Donald) Curry, Traci Parks and Fred (Glenda) McCollim, Jr.; proud grandfather of Brittenay, Johnny Ray, Daniele, Megan, Logan, Kaitlin, Ava, Aiden, Kaycie and one on the way; cherished brother of Raymond (Joanne), Donald (Debbie) and Doris Jean (Tony); dear brother in law of Sandi (Chuck) Cantor.

Fred was a Mason for most of his life. He enjoyed racing motorcycles and was a member of the Lions, Eagles and Owls Clubs. Fred was a proud union member while working for General Mills. He loved listening to Loretta Lynn.

Memorial visitation Friday, August 26, 3:00p.m. until the time of the Masonic service 7:00p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at State Street) South Elgin. Cremation took place privately at Countryside Funeral Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org would be appreciated.
