Frank Saraceno

June 25, 1922 — August 3, 2023

Frank Saraceno was born June 25, 1922 and passed away on August 3, 2023, at the age of 101. He was born in Cortale, Italy, and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, until the family immigrated to the United States in 1938. He served as a Radio Operator in the Army Air Force during WWII in the China-Burma-India theater, flying many missions “over the Hump” of the Himalaya mountains.

After his discharge from the Service he worked for Warwick Electronics for nearly 40 years as a Master Cabinet Maker and Supervisor.

He was well versed in all aspects of construction, electrical, and masonry work and loved helping family and friends with home projects. He was a skilled woodworker, expert at drawing, loved gardening, cooking, and hockey, but most important to him was his family.

He married the love of his life, Carmelinda, and together they raised three children and shared a wonderful life of 52 years in the Chicago area.

He lived an incredibly rich life and provided guidance & wisdom to generations who are proud to have had his positive influence in their lives. He will be loved, honored, and missed by many.

Frank was husband to Carmelinda, nee Bruno; devoted father of Marianna (late Kenneth) Jansen and Vicky (Bob, Sr.) Mandarino and John (Carol) Saraceno; loving grandfather of Scott (Maren) Jansen, David (Megan) Jansen, Bobby, Jr. (Robyn) Mandarino, Dina (Mark) Ryan, Frankie (Carrie) Mandarino, Johnny Saraceno and Danielle Saraceno; proud Papa of Thomas, Samantha, Aevery, Emerson, Cohen, Alyssa, Zachary, Joey, Courtney (Matt) Fryer, Casey, Nicholas, Kaylee and Jacob; fond brother of his twin, the late Joseph, late Pasquale (Pat), late Mary (Trupia) and the late Vincent; dear son of the late Natale and Marianna, and he was a favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was also loved by many neighbors & friends whom he considered his extended family.

Visitation Sunday, August 6th, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Monday, August 7th, 10:00 am service at the funeral home. Frank will be laid to rest next to his wife at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
