Frank Santagata, 89, of Streamwood, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 23, 2025. Frank was the beloved husband to his late wife Rae, who passed away 21 years ago almost to the day of Frank, a true love story. He was a cherished father to Louis (Cindy) Santagata, Frank (Tracy) Santagata, Patricia Hankes, Jeanellen Santagata and John (Sheila) Santagata; proud Grandfather ("Papa") to Anthony, Jessica, Nick, Joey, Lisa, Nicole, Ben, Cole and Mason; dear Brother to the late Benjamin (Ann) Santagata. He was also a loving Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend to many.
Frank worked for American Airlines. He was a dedicated, loyal and hard worker for over 40 years. He also served in the Army National Guard for 8 years and worked his way up to Sergeant. He loved the outdoors, fishing and camping, but what Frank really loved more than anything was his family. He adored his wife Rae and his children. He was warm, strong and welcomed everyone he met with open arms. Many of his children's friends were considered part of his family, they grew up knowing and loving Frank as a second dad, he will be remembered walking around outside, cigar in hand, enjoying the days with the people he loved most. He made everyone feel safe and loved with his strength and knowledge, he was everyone's "go-to" person. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him and loved him. He will be deeply missed and will always be our loving Dad and Papa. We will strive to be like you Papa by telling your stories, cherishing time with family and maybe even taking a camping trip together and catching some fish in your honor. We love you forever and always. xxoo
