Evelyn Vela

Evelyn Vela, age 87, died peacefully June 28, 2025. She was born on September 21, 1937 to Charles and Myrel Barrowcliff.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Peter; loving mother of Chris (Maureen); proud grandmother of Nicole.

Evelyn was a Cubs fan and long time member of St. Walter Catholic Church. She enjoyed making flannel stories for story time at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. Evelyn also volunteered at the Bloomingdale library in the children's department. Most of all she loved spending time with her granddaughter Nicole and attending all of her activities.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, 9:30am until time of prayers 10:30am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Road (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Road) Roselle. Following prayers

Mass will be held at St. Walter Catholic Church, 130 W. Pine Ave., Roselle, at 11:00am. Entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
