Eugene Roy Micklevitz, 84, of South Elgin died October 17, 2016. Eugene was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Marie; loving father of Jean (Deb), Sue and Larry Micklevitz; proud grandfather of Justin and Travis Hilligoss; dear great grandfather of Claire Hilligoss; Brother-in-law to Shirley Micklevitz and Barbara Micklevitz; fond uncle of Pam, Lori, Dave, Laura, Bill, Dave, Denyse, Maret, Delores and Suzy; friend to many. Eugene was a former member of the South Elgin Lion’s Club, and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball and basketball. As a hobby he used to shoot pool enjoyed playing poker and always had a joke to share. Eugene worked many years as a carpenter. Visitation Saturday, October 22, 2:00p.m. until the time of service 6:00p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at State Street) South Elgin. Following services cremation will be private at Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations to Romeoville Humane Society (Romeoville), Always Room 4 More Paws (Elgin), or Animal House Shelter (Huntley) would be appreciated.
