Eufemia Lorenzetti Minor departed this life on August 22nd after a brief illness. She was born in Tivoli, Roma, Italy on January 28, 1930.
Eufemia worked as a technical language translator in England where she met her husband, John Minor. After being married, they returned to start a life together in the United States and lived several places before settling in Indianapolis, IN.
After marriage, Eufemia became a homemaker and loving mother of her only son, Kevin Minor, but would often look after the children of friends and neighbors. Eufemia had a passion for learning and reading and used these skills for her true calling of teaching others. She tutored a countless number of children during her time in Indianapolis, Indiana. Through her help and guidance, she enabled these children to become successful students and confident adults.
Her memory will be cherished by her son, Kevin(Michelle)Minor, three granddaughters: Kristina Marie, Jasmine Nicole, and Brienne Alexandra Minor, all of Mundelein, IL; brothers: Fortunato(Franca)Lorenzetti and Renato(Marisa)Lorenzetti both of Roma, Italy; brother-in-law: Dr. Joseph Davis of New Orleans, LA; sisters-in-law: Jean Douglas Minor of Boca Raton, FL and Catherine Minor of New Orleans, LA; nieces: Roberta Lorenzetti of Roma, Italy, Laura Lorenzetti of Roma, Italy, Jo Ann Minor of New Orleans, LA, Gina(Chester)Allen of New Orleans, LA, Christine (Kent)Jordan of New Orleans, LA, Fay Kaufman of New Orleans, LA and nephew: Maurizio Lorenzetti of Roma, Italy; and a host of other family and friends.
Eufemia was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John Minor; her parents: Dulio Lorenzetti and Anna Carnevali Lorenzetti; two sisters: both named Ersilia; her parents-in-law: Christopher Minor and Eola Smith; sever brothers-in-law: Charles, Christopher Jr., Earl, Edward, George, Joseph, and Vernon; five sisters-in-law: Adele Mercadel, Blooma Sterling, Eola Beatrice Davis, Melba M. Berger, and Serena M. Wallace.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 11am until the time of service 12 noon at Destiny Church, 325 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates, IL. Interment will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN on Monday, August 31st at 3pm. (630) 289-8054.
