Ethel Kozoyed

Ethel ”Sue” Kozoyed, 89 of Streamwood, IL died October 9, 2020 in Rochester MN at Cottagewood Senior Living Community. Sue was born November 27, 1930 in West Blockton Alabama. Sue had spent the last 12 years living with her daughter Veronica Vale and her family in Rochester, MN. She is survived by her children: Karen (Dean) Moose, Suzanne (Jim) Turner, Peter Kozoyed, Jr. and Veronica (Mike) Vale; grandchildren: Jason(Jennifer), Jamie, Jodie (Brett), Joshua (Jenni), Justin, Jessica, Michelle and Amanda; great grandchildren: Noah, Logan, Grayson, Ameliah, Caleb, Dylan, Quinton, Sabrina and Kalani. Sue is preceded in death by her husband Peter, Sr, parents James and Altha, daughter Cynthia at birth and her daughter in law Barbara.

Sue was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, and anyone playing tennis! We took her to her one and only Bulls game where she got to meet her favorite Bulls player, John Paxson. She loved children so driving a school bus in U46 for 25 years seemed to be her calling. Bowling was another passion for her where she always topped the leaderboards in whatever league she bowled in. Drawing was another hobby as well as gardening and all card games where she would beat the pants off of anyone playing against her!!

We would like to thank her home health caregiver’s Carla Croy and Hawo Abu for their love and compassion, Mayo Clinic Hospice, Mayo Clinic Health Systems and Mayo Clinic Hospital. We want to especially thank Cottagewood Senior Living Community who lovingly cared for her during her last year of her life. We will forever be grateful to all of the staff. Memorials can made to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.

Memorial visitation Tuesday, October 13, 3:00pm – 9:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at Middle Road) South Elgin. Inurnment Wednesday 11:00am at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
