Esther Isabelle Hotton, age 100 passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20th. Esther was born at home on December 3, 1913 in Fairbury, Il. She was the only daughter of Albert and Belle Hornsby.
As a young woman, she moved to Chicago to live with her Aunt Cora and Uncle Weis. While living there, she met the love of her life, James Thomas Hotton. They were married Sept. 25, 1937. They lived in Seattle, Wa. while James served in the Navy. When they returned they lived in Chicago until 1956 when they purchased their first and only home in Rolling Meadows. Over the years, her courage and extremely strong faith carried her through many adversities. In her later years she continued to practice her religion as a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.
Although she worked outside the home at various jobs, her heart was always at home with her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol June Hotton (of Elgin, Il.) and Judith Ann Doll (of Carol Stream, Il.). She is also survived by her "favorite son-in-law" Kerry Doll, her grandchildren David (Lori) Doll and Laura (Ronald Jr.) Kotwica and four great grandsons, Carson and Colton Doll and Nathan and Trace Kotwica. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, her parents and infant brother, Herald.
Visitation will be Friday December 27th 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Interment Memory Gardens following the visitation. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 916 E. Central Rd. Arlington Heights immediately after she is laid to rest.
