In loving memory, we celebrate the remarkable life journey of Erasmo Dizon Gonzales – devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and giving brother.
Born on September 23, 1944, Philippines, Erasmo, also known as Rusty, was one of 8 siblings born to Estelita and Dominador. Growing up with 7 siblings and loving parents, taught him the values of family and keeping family together. It is his passion and love for family that would define his life and legacy.
He attended Angeles University, where he met the love his life, Cresencia Sinio. This moment marked the beginning of a life-long partnership built on love, family, and faith. Erasmo then attended Mapua Institute of Technology (presently, Mapua University) where he earned a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. In May 22, 1968, Erasmo and Cresencia, were joined in holy matrimony. Two years later, in 1970, Erasmo traveled to the United States to seek out his dream to create a better life for his young wife and to raise a family. After years of hard work, starting his career in Engineering, and frequent visits back to the Philippines, he was finally able to bring his wife and two young sons to the United States.
Always dedicated to family, in the 1980’s Erasmo petitioned five of his younger siblings to the United States. Where they now raise their own families and pursue their dreams.Erasmo’s passion for engineering led to a long and distinguished 45 year career as a Mechanical Engineer in Sargent & Lundy. He earned the proud achievement of being Board certified both in the Philippines and in the United States. In 2017, Erasmo retired and joined his wife as active members in their church group at St. Peter Damian. This was their start to enjoy life in retirement.

Though greatly saddened from her loss, he carried out the wishes of his departed wife to continue to support the family the way she would have wanted. On May 11, 2025, Erasmo peacefully rejoined his wife. Though our hearts mourn over his passing, we rejoice knowing that he is reunited with the love of his life in the kingdom of God.
