Emma Lira

Emma Ann Lira, nee Murphy, 82, wife of 56 years to the late Ernie Lira, mother of Sheryl (Bill) Bauch, Richard (Karen) Lira, Judy (Ron) Renkiewicz, Bob (Annette) Lira and Tony (Tina) Lira; grandmother of Kelly (Mike), Adam (Kristen), Erik (Kiersten), Tyler (Cristina), Nicole (Giuseppe), Alexandra, Jessica and Gabriella; great grandmother of Ryan, Emily, Luka, Gavin, Gianna and Giuseppe; sister of Debbie and Larry. Emma worked at United Airlines in Elk Grove Village as a Data Entry Operator from 1978-1993. She took advantage of her discounted flights by traveling to Vegas, to play the slots and Hawaii just to relax. In the little spare time she had she enjoyed baking, sewing and holiday crafts. The thing which kept her going was her family. Family meant everything to her. Sunday meals, with everyone together, the house was loud and filled with life and love. She always made you feel special. She put the needs of others before her own. God created the perfect mother when He made her. Visitation Friday, November 15th, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Saturday is private. In lieu of flowers donations to AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence 901 Martha St, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 would be appreciated. The whole staff at the hospice residence took amazing care of Emma and the family will always be grateful to the staff who took care of their mom.
