Emilia D'Andrea

Emilia D'Andrea, 92, nee Gallo; of Hoffman Estates and formerly of Chicago; loving wife of the late Domenico, who passed away in 1973; cherished mother of Nick (Charlotte) and Mauro (Carol); dear grandma/Nona of Ellen (Tyler), Dominick (Kasey), Samantha (Aaron) and Kristina (Andrew); caring great grandma of Hunter, Harper, Hadley and Caleb; beloved sister of the late Dominica and proud daughter of the late Nicola and Petronilla. Emilia was born in Italy on August 5, 1929. Emilia worked extremely hard, both at her job and at home. She retired, after 30 years, in the housekeeping department at Columbus Hospital in Chicago. When she wasn't at work she loved to work in her garden, tending to her flowers and vegetables. She was an excellent cook and also loved to bake. She enjoyed traveling, word searches and holidays when the entire family could be together. She loved her two sons but it was her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who could do no wrong. They all brought so much joy to her life. Visitation Saturday, May 28th, 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood. Funeral service Tuesday, May 31st, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hilliside, Il.
