Elsie Unterberger

Elsie Louise Unterberger, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Born August 30, 1940, in Chicago. Elsie was very active throughout her life. She was an avid golfer and a huge Bears, Bulls and White Sox fan. She was artistic, loved to travel and enjoyed the slots at the casino. Elsie had a strong passion for reading, gardening and holiday decorating, especially for her favorite holiday, Christmas. She will be missed. She is survived by her children Stacey Riley, Lori (Javier) Reyna and Donald Unterberger; grandchildren Melissa, John, April, Michael, Christopher, Donald, Amanda, Samantha, Isaac and Donna-Rose; great grandchildren Autumn, April, Ari, Ava, Madeline and Ashley; great-great grandchildren Damon, Rose, Lainey and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband Donald and lifelong partner Richard Lee, son Michael, parents Edmund and Helen Meier, sister Judy and Sharon and brother Eddie. Cremation is private at the Countryside Crematory. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, Roselle. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org , would be appreciated.
