Elsie Idarius

April 16, 1925 — September 15, 2014

Elsie A. Idarius nee Ryl, 89. Beloved wife of the late Donald Idarius. Loving mother of Kevin and Pam (John) Rohleder and five Golden Retriever girls all named Taffy. Cherished grandma of Kyle. Elsie was born in Chicago to the late Karl and Alvina Ryl. She was the youngest of four children and sister of the late Art (late Olga), late Alma (late Art), and Otto (Georgianna). She was a fond godmother and aunt to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A lifelong Lutheran, Elsie was baptized, confirmed and married at Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church, after which she transferred to the Ev. Lutheran Church of St. Michael. There she was the church secretary for 36 years. After moving to Bartlett, she worshipped at Living Lord Lutheran Church. Elsie played the organ, beautifully sewed and crafted, loved to decorate her home and entertain, and volunteer her time and talents. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the USA with Don, her children and other family and friends.

Visitation Sunday, September 21, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Lying in state Monday, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 1044 Congress Drive (at Route 59), Bartlett. Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Bartlett Cemetery.
