Elmer L. Puckett, 89, of Elgin; husband of the late Gladys, nee Rich; dad of Linda, Alice (Raymond) Cournoyer, Patricia (Ken) Lemke, Christina (Greg) Brendle and Elmer Dean; grandpa of Jeremy (Noemi), Jessica, Jamie (Anthony), Matthew, Kevin (Melissa), Kenny, Tyler, Brittny, Raymond, Jr., Shiel, Ryan, Chiara, Nathanael, Olivia, Lucas and Philomena; great grandpa of 30 with 3 more on the way; brother of Martha (late Bill) Sutt, late Bill (Marge), late Jim (late Ruth) and the late Lois Newman and an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Elmer was the proud owner of Puckett Motors on Dundee Ave. in Elgin. He knew each and every customer by name, he knew each car inside and out and top to bottom. Many deals were made with a firm handshake. Generations came to Elmer to buy their cars because they knew they could trust him. He was quick with a joke and had endless stories, which made Elmer seem larger than life. He was known across the nation in the car industry. He knew the value of a dollar and worked endlessly to better his family's life. Elmer was a Living Legend and will be missed by many. Memorial visitation Friday, April 27th, 3:00 pm- time of memorial service 7:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett, Il. 60103. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
