Ellen Maki

Services for Ellen Marie Maki nee Salo of Streamwood will be private.

Born May 2, 1937 in Pequaming, MI to George and Gudrun Salo nee Soli. After the passing of her mother in 1945, Ellen was blessed when her father married her stepmother Amanda. Ellen was a graduate of L'Anse High School of 1955. After graduation, she moved to Detroit where she met Leonard "Ed" Maki from Elo, MI and they were married September 1, 1956. In June of 1969 Ed and Ellen relocated their family to Streamwood, IL where Ellen lived in their family home for 51 years. Ellen enjoyed spending time with her children/grandchildren, spending time with her sister Jenny (even if it was their standing Sunday night phone call), vacation adventures with her daughter Kim and sister Jenny and in her spare time she loved to shop, crochet baby blankets, play Yahtzee and taking car rides.

Ellen is survived by her children; Karen Miller, Glen (Sue) Maki, Kim (Don) Maki and Gene Maki; her grandchildren Amanda (Eric) Miller, Stephanie (Jason) Duncan, Richard (Jamie) Miller, Eric Maki, Brittany (Jeff) Maki and Gus; her great grandchildren Nathan and Declan Duncan and Richard, Madeline and Charolette Miller. Her sister Jenny (David) Janda of Skanee, MI and nephew Tim (Sarah) and their daughters Dorothy and Cecelia of Marquette, MI. Her sister-in-law Judy Salo of TN and Gerald Earl Maki of L'Anse, MI, brother-in-law Edwin Maki of Elo, MI. plus many nieces and nephews. Ellen Loved everyone!

Proceeding her in death is her husband, her parents, her brothers Donald Salo and Ernie Salo, her sisters Doris Graff and Martha Fredrickson and her step siblings Donald Ranta, Elenor Johnson and Leonard Ranta.
