Ellen Laechel

Ellen Mary Laechel, 80, of Streamwood, IL passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Ellen is the beloved wife of 56 years to Walter G. Laechel and the loving mother of Mark, Sharon, and Michael Laechel and dear sister of Kathleen Kowalewski. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ellen Kinahan of Ireland and was preceded in death by her three brothers, James, Jack and Anthony Kinahan.

Ellen was a Chicago school teacher, a fine artist and a gourmet cook. She loved to travel, loved music, and spending time with her family. She celebrated St. Patrick's Day and enjoyed family celebrations.

There will be a private memorial service for her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
