Elizabeth Helen Crandall, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10th, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 19th, 1946, in Homewood, Illinois, Elizabeth led a life full of love, dedication, and service.
Elizabeth is remembered and cherished by her sons, Michael (Amy) Janavich and Daniel (Jamie) Janavich, who were her pride and joy. Her siblings, Theresa, William, Marie, and Patty, along with her grandchildren Paige, Jacob, Lucas, Hayden, and Shane, will forever treasure the warmth and wisdom she shared with them. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving parents, Paul and Beverly Crandall.
Throughout her career, Elizabeth made significant contributions as an administrator at the Illinois State Police Department and the Hoffman Estates Police Department. Her journey began in Radio for the State Police, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact on her colleagues and community.
Elizabeth had many passions and interests that she fervently pursued, earning her the affectionate nickname "Mother Nature" from her family. She was an avid gardener and an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for cats. As the family photographer, Elizabeth captured countless cherished memories, documenting the vibrant gatherings of her large and lively family. She also took on the role of family historian, preserving the rich legacy of those she loved.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Elizabeth's life during a visitation at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 S. Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL, on Friday, November 14th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. Family and Friends are also invited to meet at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15 at 10:00 am to go in procession to Moretti's in Bartlett, for a Celebration of Life.
