Elizabeth Beauton Adkisson
November 23, 1936 - September 1, 2023
Beauton was born on November 23, 1936 in East Prairie, Missouri to John Marshall Dodge and Cecil Maxine Dodge. She resided in East Prairie until she married Joseph Adkisson (of East Prairie) in 1955, when they moved to Chicago, Illinois. Beauton gave birth to her only child, a daughter, Marsha. Beauton worked as a buyer for Wieboldt’s on State Street in Chicago for many years, which she enjoyed tremendously. She then spent many years as a traffic manager for an international exhibit company. Her true passion, however, was devoting her life to her friends and family. Beauton enjoyed attending her daughter’s dance recitals throughout her childhood, and when her granddaughters came along, she enjoyed attending their dance recitals and later, sporting events and band recitals. Beauton was known to enjoy a good card game, watching golf, crocheting, reading and spending time with friends and family. Beauton’s love for fashion continued her whole life. She took pride in making many of her daughter’s dresses for some of her most important milestones and always made sure she and her daughter were dressed to the nines. Beauton was known for her perfectly manicured nails and was always striving for the perfect haircut. Beauton’s love and devotion to her family and friends was unending and anyone that was lucky enough to know her was likely a beneficiary of that unconditional love and commitment which will be greatly missed.
Beauton is survived by her daughter Marsha (Gary) Vanek; her granddaughters Morgan (Adam) Loete and Lindsay (Joseph) Sanchez; great grandchildren Avery Loete, Colton Loete, Brooks Loete and Milo Sanchez; her brother Earl (Carol) Dodge; 4 nieces and 13 great nieces and nephews.
