Elaine R. Gajewski

Elaine R. Gajewski, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the age of 88.

Elaine found joy and camaraderie in her love for online slots and casinos. She was a gifted seamstress and crocheter who enjoyed many crafts often sharing with family and friends, and could frequently be found enjoying the heartwarming stories on the Hallmark Channel. However what she enjoyed most was her family.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Gajewski, her parents, Stanley and Wanda Fortek, and her dear son, James Gajewski. Her legacy, however, lives on through her surviving family: her devoted son, Greg (Edie) Gajewski; her loving daughter, Cynthia Gajewski Miller; her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Kevin, Justin, Garrett, and Samantha (Cameron); her great-grandson, Logan; and her beloved sister, Virginia (Allan) Christopherson.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Elaine’s life at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory of Roselle, Illinois. Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 10:30 am, followed by a burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.

Elaine’s warmth, humor, and creative spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
