Edward P. Starks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward P. Starks, a beloved member of the Elgin community. Edward passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5th, 2026. He was a long-time resident of Elgin, Illinois.

Edward will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his children, Bonnie (Engtong) Tang, Brian (Araceli) Starks, Bradley (Heather) Starks, Brent Starks, and Bridgett Starks (Pok Xayachanla). He was a proud grandfather to Emily, Amy, Sarah, Stephanie, Kendall, Grayson, Zoey, Zander, and Zarina, and a doting great-grandfather to Sophia and Lukas. Edward was also the dear brother of Thomas Starks and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his wifes Doris and B=Dorothy Ann; parents, Milton and Phyllis Starks, and his siblings Sharon and Margaret.

He was a diligent worker, spending many years as a laborer, and he found joy and passion in photography, taking road trips, caring for his cars, and playing chess.

Visitation will be held at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory of South Elgin, South Elgin, Illinois, on Monday, November 9th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at the same location later that evening, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Edward’s legacy will live on through the love and memories he shared with those who knew him. His warmth, adventurous spirit, and dedication to family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
