Edward Walthall Ross, 83, died January 5, 2016, in Medinah, IL. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; his children, David (Samantha) of Washington, DC and Edward (Feonie Tandoc) of Mount Prospect, IL; and 2 grandchildren (Annalise and Julia).
Mr. Ross was born in Tuskegee, AL, and raised in Tuskegee, Electric Mills, MS, and Elmhurst, IL. He attended York High School and the University of Illinois.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Mr. Ross had a lengthy career in sales. He served as the vice president of sales at Temperature Equipment Corporation (TEC) and as the head of marketing at Floralife, Inc., and he was the President of Ross Marketing Co. He also founded the Midwestern franchise of Hoop Mountain Basketball, which he owned and operated until health issues forced him, reluctantly, to retire.
Mr. Ross was an avid sports fan and fisherman and a passionate supporter of York High School, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
