Edward Johnson, passed away peacefully August 10, 2021. Born in Chicago to Eric and Gladys (Spencer) Johnson on August 5, 1936. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Noreen Johnson; loving son Jeff Johnson and daughter Elaine Johnson; brother Dale (Barbara) Johnson; his brother in laws Don (Marcia) and Larry (Mary) Esbjornson; sister in law Jackie Giovannina; His many nieces and nephews, his grandchildren Bailey (Brian) Carrabotta, Per Johnson and his great grandchild Bea Rose. He is proceeded in death by his brothers Eric and Eugene along with his sister Lucille.
Ed grew up in Chicago, but then built and owned 4 houses in the tiny area of Keeneyville, Illinois before his big move to Elgin. He worked very hard as a construction superintendent before retiring. His former co-workers called him "2 Beer Eddie". He like making Glogg at Christmas time. He liked "togetherness projects". In his younger days he enjoyed cutting down trees, water skiing, and dancing. Another activity he enjoyed was playing cards and going to casinos. Ed enjoyed going on vacations as well as playing the stock market, driving, and cooking. Ed enjoyed putting together weekly family nights for his children and grandchildren. He was a big Chicago Bears fan. Ed had a great sense of humor, he always enjoyed teasing his friends and family, giving them fun nicknames. Most off all Ed loved eating frosties with his dog and watching old movies. Ed was not only an amazing loving father but an all around amazing man who will be truly missed.
Memorial visitation, Saturday, September 11th, 2021 1:00p.m. until time of memorial service 2:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 95 S. Gilbert St. (at State St.), South Elgin.
