Visitation for Dorothy "Dot" J. Fruehling nee Kibbey of Roselle, formerly of Arlington Hts., will be held Friday 4:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle. Saturday lying in state 12:30p.m. until time of service 1:00p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church 405 S. Rush St. Roselle 60172. Interment Fairview Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 15, 1922 in Chicago to Adelbert and Josephine Kibbey nee Elvrum, Dorothy died Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011.

She was a 1938 graduate of Steinmetz H.S. in Chicago. She was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Chicago, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle. She married Ivor F. Fruehling on Oct. 18 1941. She worked part-time at Wieboldts and Carsons before raising her family.
Dot was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, needlepoint, playing Scrabble and Boggle and described by her family as "the best chocolate chip cookie maker."

She was the beloved wife for 69 yrs of Ivor; loving mother of Judith Wade, James (Karen Shankman), Pamela (Kenneth) Sherman and Peggy Siems; cherished grandmother of Wendy (Michael) Elsenbroek, Jennifer (Peter) Hulen, Kevin (Joy) and Daniel Wade, Keith (Amy) and Christopher (Kim) Fruehling, Jonathan (Kristin) Sherman, Laurie (Patrick) Krook, James (Julie) Sherman, Bradley (Katherine Green) and Scott Deibel; proud great grandmother of Benjamin, Julia and Jonathan Perez, Bret and Jon Elsenbroek, Sophia and Cyrus Hulen, Brittany, Nicholas, Taylor and Sydney Fruehling, Eli and Ian Sherman, Josephine, Jackson and Samuel Krook and Katelyn Sherman.
