A remembrance celebration will be held at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to gather together. In lieu of flowers donations to Christian Science Society, Elgin. P.O. Virginia was 87 years old. She and Bill were married 62 years last September. She was a member of the Christian Science Society, Elgin, IL, for 50 years. She and Bill have also lived in South Elgin for 50 years, where they raised their four girls. She worked as a bookkeeper at Chicago Junior School for several years. Virginia loved to volunteer and was a Girl Scout leader, and part of the Welcome Wagon when the family lived in Plainfield.
Ginny loved being with family and friends, sharing movies, and cooking for the crowd. She was always planning the next big gathering. The family enjoyed laughing together always.
From her dad’s book of poetry, this is a poem written for mothers from daughters.
To a Wonderful Mother
God made a wonderful Mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And he molded her heart of pure gold.
In her eyes he placed bright shining stars
God made a wonderful mother
And He gave that dear mother to me.
