Donna Tanner

April 29, 1940 — November 27, 2020

A memorial service for Donna Rita Tanner nee Disch of Bloomingdale, formerly of Edison Park, will be held at a later date.

Donna Rita Tanner, 80, died peacefully following a courageous battle with Covid-`19 on November 27, 2020. She was born on April 29, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois.

A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many, Donna loved spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, music (especially Elvis!) and was a huge Cubs fan. Above all – she loved to talk! Donna was a dedicated mother and spent over 20 years working as Unit Secretary and Outpatient Registrar at Lutheran General Hospital – she was incredibly proud of her time there. She was active in the community spending countless hours leading the cheerleading teams and concession stands at Olympia Park. She loved going to the Cubs games back when Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams and many more were in the top their games!

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Disch, and her loving mother, Helen. Donna is the beloved mother of Lynn Heicher, Raymond "Skip" Tanner and Donna Rae (Robert) Henk; cherished grandmother of Michelle (William) O'Brien and Eric Heicher; Mitch (Amber), Alec, Logan and Chloe Tanner; Joshua, Nicole, Ryan and David Henk; proud great grandmother of Michael James Tanner; dear sister of Kenneth (Mary) Disch.

Donna will be most remembered for her love and commitment to family and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her beloved family.
