Donna Holder

Donna Rae (Eyster) Holder of South Elgin went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 20, 2011. She was born in Ogle County, IL September 16, 1933 to Clifford Raymond and Blanche Olive (Butterfield) Eyster. Donna graduated from the KSB School of Nursing in Dixon, IL in 1955 and shared her love and compassion for people through nursing for many years. She retired from Delnor-Community Hospital in 1998 after over 26 years of service. The staff at Delnor lovingly treated one of their own and her family with greatly appreciated compassion during the final days of Donna’s earthly life.
Donna earned Lifetime Member status at the South Elgin Lions Club serving as both a Lioness and a Lion for over 30 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Elgin.

Donna married the love of her life, Charles William Holder, in Dixon on October 4, 1959. She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters; Nita (Richard) Springer, and Mary (Jeff) Conte; four grandchildren, Marissa (Ben) Wilson, Mandy Springer, Michael Springer and Tonia Conte; four great grandchildren, Nataly, Ariana, Nickelous and Matthew and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Barbara (Herbert) Bergman.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am at Calvary Baptist Church, visitation from 10:00 to time of service with her pastor Scott Ballance officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) South Elgin.
