Donna Broaddus

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Donna Marie Broaddus, Pingree Grove, IL left this world unexpectedly, at 50, on October 20, 2021. Born in Elgin, Illinois on May 31, 1971 to Charles and Geneva (Rhodes) Broaddus, Donna grew up in Hanover Park, where she attended Ontarioville Elementary School, Tefft Middle School, and was a graduate of Streamwood High School in 1989. Donna went on to study at McKendree University and more recently graduated from Elgin Community College in 2019.

Donna loved to sparkle and never left home without some sparkly bling items in her possession. Donna was fiercely loyal to her friends, family and animals. Donna was passionate about finding a cure for Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) and was an active member of Fighting the Chiari Fight, having lived with Chiari herself. We will always remember her beautiful smile, silly sense of humor, those eye rolls, and her obsession with purses, shoes, and purple sparkly bling.

When you think of Donna, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents Jeremiah and Stella (Gray) Broaddus, Oley and Bessie (Ballenger) Rhodes, her brother, Terry Broaddus, and her beloved fur babies, Samantha and Bailey.

Great Niece: Holley Calvin-Garcia
Great Nephews: Moises Calvin-Garcia, Jaden Deckmann, Connor Calvin-Garcia, and Noah Garcia

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road, Bartlett, IL 60103 on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 3:00pm – 7:30 p.m. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Richard Sanders will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Donna’s name to the American Syringomyelia & Chiari Alliance Project or to the American Brain Tumor Association.
