Donald Anderson
April 30, 1930 — November 18, 2024
Donald R. Anderson, 94, of Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away on November 18, 2024. Born on April 30, 1930, in Kenosha, WI, Don lived a life of faith, love, and dedication to his family and community.
In 1958, Don and his beloved wife Jean moved to Hoffman Estates, where they built their life together and raised their three children: Mark (Sharon), Roger (Maureen), and Nance (Bill). Don’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren—Rob, Hillary, Devin, and Paul—and his great-grandchildren, William, Henry, and Lily. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and two brothers-in-law.
Don is reunited in heaven with his parents, Irwin and Minnie; his brothers, Roy and Glenn; and his granddaughter, Melanie.
Don was a US Army Veteran (Korean War), and a very proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He enjoyed a successful career in the paper packaging industry. After retiring, he had a fun second career with Ace Hardware as the “Helpful Hardware Man.” Don was a founding member of Church of the Cross Presbyterian Church, and an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
A celebration of Don’s life will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Church of the Cross, located in Hoffman Estates, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the National Park Foundation in his honor.
