Don Berger

July 31, 1941 — March 27, 2024

Donald H. Berger, 82, of Elgin, IL, passed away on March 27, 2024. Don was born on July 31, 1941 to Karl and Elsie Berger in Chicago, IL. He attended Lane Tech High School and graduated with a bachelor's degree from North Park University. Don served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Retail Sales/District Manager for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time outside working in his yard and reading. He loved to do woodworking projects and travel with his family.

Don was truly passionate about his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol M. Berger nee Fagust; loving father of Jean (Lyle) Alt, Laura Berger, Donna (Trevor) Joike and Donald Berger II; cherished grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 2. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Elsie and his sister Ruth Jerard.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 3:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road) Bartlett, IL 60103.
