It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Domenic Coletta, a beloved husband, father, Popi, brother, uncle, and friend. Domenic departed this world on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in the serene landscapes of Italy on Monday, November 14th, 1949, Domenic brought his rich heritage and love for life to his cherished home in Elgin, Illinois. He carried his roots with pride, always intertwining them with his love for his adopted community.
Known for his remarkable skills and dedication, Domenic spent his professional life working as a diesel mechanic, a career that reflected his passion for mechanics and hands-on work. His commitment and expertise were deeply respected by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Domenic found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, building/racing cars, painting and took immense pleasure in crafting homemade Limoncello, sharing its warmth and zest with family and friends. Above all, Domenic cherished every moment spent with his family, who were his true pride and joy.
Domenic is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debra Coletta nee Avino, whose partnership was a testament to their enduring love. He was a devoted father to Nicolle (Donato) Latrofa and Frank (Lisa) Coletta. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Angelo, Joseph, Domenic, Gianna, and Daniella. Domenic also leaves behind his dear brother, Ciro (Linda) Coletta, and was a cherished brother-in-law to Michelle Diorio and Lisa Sible. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Angelo (Tricia), Anna (Carlo), Michael, Amber, and Anthony.
Preceding Domenic in death were his loving parents, Frank and Giuseppina Coletta, who welcomed him into life and now back into eternity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory - Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Domenic's memory to a charity of choice, celebrating his life-long commitment to community and family.
Domenic Coletta will forever be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering dedication to family, and his warm-hearted generosity. May his soul find peace, and may his memory be a long-lasting blessing to all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held in celebration of Domenic's life at Resurrection Catholic Church, 30W350 Army Trail Rd. Wayne, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, with visitation 10:00am until the time of Mass 11:00 am. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who have supported them during this challenging time.
