Dolly Divito

March 8, 1959 — November 5, 2024

Psalm 139:17-18 “17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand-- when I awake, I am still with you.”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Dolores Ann DiVito.

Dolores “Dolly” Ann DiVito was born on March 8th, 1959, daughter to Dolores nee Megrant (the late Jerald) Fontana and the late Jerome Jornd. Sister of Tony (Becky) Jornd, Diane Morel, Carol (Mauro) D’Andrea. All siblings grew up close to one another, and all were a huge part of Dolly's life.

Dolly attended Forman High School in Chicago. While attending at Forman, she found great joy in running. She decided to join the Track and Field team, and she was very successful! Dolly even ran in the Junior Olympics!

Dolly became a mother to a beautiful baby boy, who she named David. From that moment on, Dolly made it her duty and ambition to be the best mother, and she spent her free time with him, going on walks, with sports, and just having some good old fashion family time.

Dolly worked the majority of her career at Deluxe Check Printers, where she was the Printing Press Manager. While working at Deluxe, she met the love of her life, Anthony DiVito. The two dated for a while, and then both decided to get married. Upon their marriage, Anthony adopted David, and all became a beautiful family.

Dolly gave birth to her second beautiful son, Nicholas. Although already a phenomenal mother, Dolly made it her life to take care of her family. Dolly was a superb cook and enjoyed making their favorite dishes, which they greatly appreciated. She loved her family and devoted all of her time to care for them….thank you, Mom!

Dolly became a mother-in-law to her daughter-in-law, Jodi. A few years later, Dolly was given the name Grandma, as David and Jodi had their first child Ella. Dolly immediately fell in love with her and spent as much of her time being the best and loving grandmother she could possibly be. A few years later, Dolly was blessed with a second grandchild, Evan by David and Jodi. Dolly again made it her ambition to spoil both grandchildren.

Dolly enjoyed cooking and decorating/cleaning; she can make any home look beautiful! Dolly enjoyed arts and crafts, and her passion was making blankets for the family and friends.

Dolly loved to love. She cared for others, provided for others, and would do anything to make sure you were loved. Dolly was thoughtful, caring, loving, strong, courageous, and had a tremendous amount of faith. She was a blessing to all.

On June 14th, 2024, Dolly decided to devote her life to God. Dolly was baptized by her son, Nick, and put her faith into action by sharing Jesus everywhere she went. Dolly's love for God was strong and true, and she placed all of her trust in Him. Dolly even helped a woman in the nursing home come to Jesus, as she called her son Nick to pray over the woman, and had the woman accept Jesus in her heart.

Dolores “Dolly" Ann DiVito went into our Holy Father's arms on November 5th, 2024. Although Dolly passed, her love will still live in all of us. She is remembered as a Beautiful Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend but most important, a Beautiful Child of God.

Thank you, Mom, for everything! We love you to infinity! I love you…a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck….love you Mama!
