Deloris Jackson

December 31, 1969 — September 15, 2021

April 9, 1934 - September 15, 2021

Deloris Ann Jackson (Mowery), 87 of South Elgin, IL passed away September 15, 2021 at her home. She was born in Anna, IL to Howard Eugene Mowery and Carrie Velma Hileman. She was mother to Roger Lee Jackson, grandmother to Misty Lea Bergmann, Traci DeAnn Ozbirn (James Sr), Kara Marie Jung (Ashley), Ashley Gail Fernandez (Jonathan) and their mother Rhonda Gail Klingberg. She was great grandmother to Jordan Ashley Bergmann, Haley Elizabeth Bergmann, Brianna Nicole Bergmann, Laura Belle Ozbirn, James Clinton Ozbirn Jr., Kenni Thomas Ozbirn, Madelynn Gail Ozbirn, Olivia Mae Ozbirn, Landon Jaxson Fernandez and Donovan Luis Fernandez. Deloris also had one step grandchild and five step great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Janet Juanita Woods, sister-in-law Joanne Mosby, several cousins and many nieces and nephews as she loved as her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Robert Earnest Mowery (Louise), Harold Eugene Mowery (Betty), sister Velma Louise Barnart (Wayne), brother-in-law Glen Ray Woods, daughter-in-law Teresa Jackson, and her dog Buttons.

She worked for many years at the nursing home near her home where she walked to and from, often times met by Traci as she was on her way in to work. Deloris was a friend to many and enjoyed coffee clutching with many of her neighbors. Her family and friends were her pride and joy. She enjoyed sitting around the table with them drinking coffee, enjoying a snack, and having a great conversation. Near and far, Deloris kept in contact with those she loved whether in person or via phone; gathering and conversation was her favorite past time. Deloris spent many hours shopping with Misty, going to lunch with Kara and having Ashley and her boys stop in for a visit. She had also spent many of her winters enjoying the AZ sun. Deloris had a wonderful sense of humor often joking about running a mile, her many boyfriends and having a beer. Deloris loved her dog Tommy and always made sure he was well fed!

A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck were the words she would often tell her granddaughters as they were the "bestest granddaughters ever she saw."
