Deane Homfeldt

Deane N. Homfeldt, 75, a lifelong resident of Elgin, died Saturday, October 3, 2009. Born December 7, 1933 he was the third son of William and Emeline (nee Rouley).
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Deane was a struggling Christian who loved our Father, Savior and the Holy Spirit and knew they loved him. He found peace in the simple things like nature, the land, sunrises and sunsets, small animals, and large animals (roasted). Deane’s heaven on earth was galena and he hoped the impressions he made last “til we meet again' and we will".
Loving husband of 52 years to Phyllis (nee Funk); proud father of Kristi (Michael) Volkening, Kent (Caryn), Deana (Joseph) Able and Phyllis “Pia” (James) Struck; cherished grandfather of Nelson; Fond brother of Robert (Peg), Bruce (Liz), Morgan, Kent (Sal) and Kay (Wade) Jackson. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bob and Morg.
Cremation was private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, Bartlett.
