Dean Maurice Breen, 52, of Carpentersville, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025. Dean was adored by his wife, sons, family, and friends. He spent decades in the appliance industry which led to a number of cherished relationships. He loved spending time with his children, spoiling them endlessly, taking them on nature walks, and teaching them survival skills. He was often found playing cornhole while listening to music, barbequing, and enjoying a meal with his amazing neighbors and friends who shared the same passions for good food and great company. He could always be counted on for a joke, and retained his great sense of humor no matter what life threw at him. Though large in stature, he had a heart for the little things, the broken things, so he always championed the helpless. He will be dearly missed. Asphalt Beach will never be the same without him.
Dean was the son of the late Charmaine Carmen Buyle (nee Ladegaard) and Patrick Edward Breen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as some uncles, aunts, and beloved cousins. Dean is survived by his wife Amy Catherine Breen (nee Watkins); sons Rylan Patrick and Emmet Dean Breen; brother Patrick Michael Dean Breen; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, cousins, in-laws, and William “Uncle Bill” Brauch, the greatest father figure of his life.
