Dawn Newton

Dawn A. Newton, 95, of Schaumburg, formerly of Hanover Park, Melrose Park and Chicago, died August 22, 2025.

Dawn was married to the late Ralph Newton for 50 years. Loving mother of 5 children, Cheryl St Phillips, Pamela (Carl) Ioriatti, Anthony St Phillips, Edward St Phillips and the late Darwin St Phillips; proud grandmother of many grandchildren; dear sister of Marvel Johnson, Darwin Rybandt, the late Gloria Blackburn and Ronald Rybandt.

She attended Casmier Pulaski Grade School, Mannheim Grade School, Leyden High School Franklin Park. Dawn worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1948 – 1952. Goldblatt’s Department Store, Union Carbide and the United States Postal Service as a clerk. Dawn was a member of the Elgin Moose Lodge for 35 years. She worked for 19 years with the students of Moose Heart.

Visitation Thursday, August 28, 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road) Bartlett. Dawn will be inurned privately with her late husband Ralph at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
