David A. Reid, Sr. of Schaumburg and formerly of Elgin, 88; husband for 62+ years of Anita, nee Wolke; father of Debra Lee (Brian) Sullivan, David A., Jr. (Carlene) and Thomas L.; grandfather of Casey, Andrew, Colleen, William and Tom; great grandfather of Mac, Emmett, Owen, Harleigh Ann, Addison, Drew and Maci; brother of the late Donald; son of the late Andrew and Luella and stepson of the late Violet Nordquist. David received his masters degree which he used while in the service and also in his teaching career in the Westchester school system for over 37 years, coaching track, basketball and flag football at Kennedy School in Westchester. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
He enjoyed coaching his sons teams.
He was an avid gardener and took pride in the looks of the outside of his homes and yards. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family.
Memorial visitation Friday, July 22, 2022 1:00p.m. until time of service 2:00p.m. at Hosanna! Lutheran Church 36W925 Red Gate Road St. Charles, Il.60175. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Association or Hosanna! Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
