David Roy Klingberg, a devoted father, cherished brother, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at the age of 79, David's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love.

Born on Sunday, January 5th, 1947, to Harry and Grace Klingberg. He shared a bond with his siblings, including his brother Kenneth Klingberg, and his late sister, Laverne Kirchoff.

David served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army, where he was a proud recipient of the Purple Heart. His bravery and dedication to protecting his fellow soldiers and his country will be long remembered and honored.

Following his military service, David dedicated 45 years of his career to Local 597 Pipefitters. His work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of his colleagues and the wider community.

David is survived by his beloved children, Andrew Klingberg, Jackie (Chris) Lawrence, and Bill (Karen) Klingberg. and he always delighted in their achievements and happiness. His legacy of kindness, strength, and perseverance lives on through them.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Harry and Grace Klingberg, as well as his sister, Laverne Kirchoff.

Arrangements are being handled by Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bartlett. Details regarding David’s burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be announced at a later date, where he will be laid to rest with the honor befitting his service.

David Klingberg will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering spirit, service, and dedication to his family and country are his enduring gifts to those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
