David Dobbelstein

David Arthur Dobbelstein age 85 of Schaumburg, Illinois passed away on May 27, 2022. He died from complications from Vascular Dementia with his son and daughter-in-law by his side at the Friendship Village Briarwood Health Care Center.

Born January 9, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Arthur and Norma (Eakers) Dobbelstein. Dave obtained his Bachelors’ degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Michigan. Prior to retirement Dave was an Electrical Engineer for W.W. Grainger company. Dave was actively involved in Boy Scouts, his church, and he liked to grow vegetables.

Dave leaves to cherish his memory his sons Michael (Janet) Dobbelstein, Steven Dobbelstein, James (Rebecca) Dobbelstein; his brothers Dennis (Susan) Dobbelstein, Robin (Suzanne) Dobbelstein, and sister-in-law Judith Dobbelstein; his grand children Joshua (Vanessa) Dobbelstein, Erin (Michael) Romine, Stewart Dobbelstein, Sydney (Charles) Reeder, Timothy Novinger, Randall (Jessica) Ehlers-Novinger, and Andrew (Megan) Novinger; great-grand children Alana Romine, Evellyn Romine, Dominick Romine; Nova Reeder, Kinsey Novinger, Lorelai Novinger, lots of loving nieces and nephews, and his good friend and “big sister” Doris Faught. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jean Dobbelstein and brother Thomas Dobbelstein.

Dave’s Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday July 30, 2022 from 3:00PM to 6:00 PM at Prince of Peace Church, 930 W Higgins Rd. Schaumburg, IL. 60194. Masks are required. Memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America or the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. www.dementiasociety.org/
