Dave Davis

Dave Davis, father of Rainy (Duane) Hoffmaster and Jackie (Donny) Walsh; grandpa of Kylee, Jake (Danielle) Hoffmaster, Codi Saunders, Jen Walsh, Donnie Walsh, Tanner Saunders, Patrick and Franki Walsh; great grandpa of Chayden Hoffmaster; brother of Peter Davis, Iris Ward and the late Cyril, Jr. and the late Glennis; son of the late Cyril "Chap", Sr. and Florence "Jolly", nee Lukins; uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was rarely seen without his chihuahua by his side, either walking the Thunderbird Country Club golf course or riding around in his car, "the Bomb". A round of golf and a cold beer was a perfect day in his mind. A practical joker, who loved to laugh and antagonize friends and family. During 30 years head of maintenance for Skil Corp. he never missed a day of work. Before relocating to the United States he was a member of the Royal Air Force in England in which he played soccer. As a child during WWII, he lived a difficult life but tried to make the best of it. In his later years all the grandchildren brought him so much joy. He was always a kid at heart and that never changed. Visitation Thursday, September 14th, 3:00 pm - until time of service 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) South Elgin, Il. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory following services. In lieu of flowers donations to ASPCA would be appreciated.
