Darlene Knueppel, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Darlene was born on July 27, 1940, in Chicago. She was married to Allan Knueppel and was the loving mother of Corinne (Richard) Sitarski, Karen, and Ken Schuhrke.
She was a beloved grandmother to Christine, Michelle, Kimberly, Samantha, and Adam, and a proud great-grandmother to Claire, Justin, Haylee, Adalynn, and Logan.
Darlene loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She made so many beautiful dresses for her children and grandchildren, along with plenty of hats, scarves, and blankets to keep everyone warm. She was always creating something with her hands and sharing it with the people she loved.
More than anything, Darlene loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was so proud to have lived long enough to see five great-grandchildren, and they brought her so much happiness.
She will be remembered for all the beautiful things she could make, but even more for the love she gave, her beautiful smile, and that sweet, silly laugh that was so uniquely hers.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
