Corny

Daniel Gerard Cornwall, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on Thursday, July 14th, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Corny was a cherished resident of Schaumburg, IL, where he spent much of his adult life.

Corny is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Dedria Cornwall, and his loving children, Danny Boy Cornwall and Dana Cornwall. He was a proud grandfather to his dear granddaughter, Melanie Guida,  and beloved step father to Adam and Hailey. Dan is also survived by his siblings, Helene Cornwall and Jimmy (Anna) Cornwall, and his nieces, Christine Cornwall and Katie Donner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Santina Cornwall.

For many years, Corny dedicated his career to the construction industry, working for Kenny Construction before spending 35 commendable years at Kewitt Constructions, retiring in 2018. His hard work and dedication to his profession were admired by many who had the opportunity to work alongside him.

Corny had a vibrant zest for life, enjoying countless baseball games, especially those of his beloved Schaumburg Boomers. He was an ardent football fanatic who brought his enthusiasm to every game day. An aficionado of the great outdoors, Daniel spent many leisurely days fishing, biking, and embracing nature's beauty.

One of his favorite pastimes was gambling, where he found joy on the riverboats and marked special occasions by taking his children to the casino for their birthdays. However, nothing brought Dan more joy than spending quality time with his family and watching his granddaughter, Melanie, grow.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, IL. Prayers will follow the next morning, Saturday, January 17th, at 9:15 am at the funeral home and then we will go to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 502 S.
