With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Daniel D. Dennis, who departed this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on Friday, October 25, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Daniel was a cherished resident of Streamwood, IL, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and passions.
Dan was the devoted husband of Verna for 66 wonderful years, a loving father to Dawn (Roger) Jasker, Scott (Kimberly) Dennis, and David (Angela) Dennis, and an adoring grandfather to Danielle (Erik), Brittany (Ricky), Brittany (Ryan), Cory (Sabrina), Daniel (Madison), Nicholas, Ashlyn, and Aiden. He also leaves behind six beloved great-grandchildren: Cameron, Cali, Brooklyn, Lyla, Aspen, and London. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Virgil Dennis and Esther Dennis.
A dedicated woodworker, Daniel's mastery with his hands was evident in the exquisite pieces he crafted and the joy he found in creating beauty from raw materials. He served his country honorably in the Navy, an experience that fostered his lifelong pride in wearing his Navy cap alongside his cherished Bears cap.
Deeply connected to nature, Daniel transformed his own backyard into a certified Wildlife Habitat, nurturing a sanctuary for birds and fish. His passion for wildlife and conservation was a testament to his gentle spirit and love for our natural world.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 11:00 am until time of Funeral Service 1:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL 60107. Cremation will be private.
Daniel’s presence, love, and laughter will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. We find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents and is at peace.
