Dan Imse

Daniel Robert Imse "Big Dan", 64 of Elgin and formerly of Norridge, Des Plaines and Hanover Park left this world unexpectedly in the evening hours of January 2, 2022. Dan was a loving husband to the late Dora Imse, an amazing father to Dana (Jason) Davis, Diana Imse (Tony Russo), Danny (Brianna) Imse and Debbie (Brandon) Gueulette. An adored Grandpa to AJ, Dylan, Devin, Kylee, Braedyn, Bentley, Payton, Benjamin, Landon, Lincoln, Remington, Delilah and Raelynn and step grandpa of Madison and Bryan; son of the late George and Evelyn; son in law of Ronald "Al" Canham and the late Dora Canham. He has been reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Dora and their black lab, Buddy.
As a child Dan grew up in Norridge where he graduated high school at Main South in Park Ridge, IL. He followed in his father’s footsteps by going to work for the family electrical business, M-Z Electric. He later opened D&D Maintenance with his son Danny. Big Dan was a determined entrepreneur throughout his life. Aside from his dedicated work ethic his greatest accomplishments are marrying his wife Dora and building a life full of adventure, laughter, and love with their 4 children and 15 grandchildren.
As a family some of their favorite activities were camping, four-wheeling, dirt bikes and vacationing. He enjoyed being outside taking care of the property, his chickens and was always working on a project. He had a funny sense of humor and never had a problem telling you what he thought.
As the patriarch of the Imse family, Big Dan truly was a one-of-a-kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Big Dan will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation Tuesday, January 11th, 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) South Elgin, IL.
Funeral Wednesday 10:30 am. Interment Plato Center Cemetery.
