Cynthia "Cyndi" Gronn

Visitation for Cynthia "Cyndi" H. Gronn nee Owczarski of Streamwood will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 3:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Friday 9:45a.m. to St. John the Evangelist Church. Mass 10:30a.m. Following mass, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.

Cyndi is the beloved wife of Frank W.; cherished daughter of the late John and Helen Owczarski nee Sobczak; dear sister of Patricia Hedlund and Camille (Robert) Bachochin; sister-in-law of Gail (Glenn) Cates, Marie (Michael) Mokate and the late Marsha Oltendorf, Holly (Robert) Stephenson and Glenn Gronn; loving aunt to Eric Hedlund, Todd (Jennie) Hedlund, Brent (Erica) Bachochin, Jill (Jacek) Dabrowski, Kristin (Eran) Klein, Scott Oltendorf, Carrie (José) Teixeira and many more nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Cyndi was born in Chicago 71 years ago to John and Helen Owczarski. She married her beloved husband Frank in 1972 and moved to Streamwood where they shared in each others lives for the next 51 years until her death on July 1.

Cyndi was an amazingly strong woman and just a good kind person to all who knew her. A great personality that enjoyed life. But, after fighting so hard against the many maladies thrown her way there was nothing left but to succumb to them.

She attended St. Veronica grammar school, graduated from St. Viator grammar school and graduated from Alvernia High School in 1970. In her teen years she worked at various movie theaters along State St. and Hecks Catering, then later the American Medical Association and finally, Hallicrafters, now Grumann-Douglas in Rolling Meadows.
