Cynthia (Cyndy) Delise Franz, 69, of Bartlett, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022.
Cyndy was born on January 25th, 1953 in New York, daughter to the late Raymond Knapp Sr. and Phyllis Knapp. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA, where she met Charles (Chuck) Franz. Cyndy and Chuck were married on June 22nd, 1974, and had three children: Scott, Brian, and Marcia. Cyndy was skilled at cake decorating, and briefly ran a small cake decorating business from her home. She was also talented at quilting and sewing, and crafted many costumes for local Community Theater productions. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, and tatting intricate lace for ornaments and jewelry.
In 2013, Cyndy was widowed after Chuck passed away from colorectal cancer. 9 years later, in July 2022, she was diagnosed with metastatic kidney cancer, and passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL, while her daughter sat vigil at her side.
Cyndy is survived by her brothers: Raymond Knapp Jr and Eric Knapp, her children: Scott Franz (spouse: Becky Franz), Brian Franz (spouse: Lauren Franz), and Marcia Tumminaro (spouse: Adam Tumminaro), her grandchildren: Kailey Apuan (spouse: Stephen Apuan), Lucy Tumminaro, Elliot Tumminaro, Tatum Franz, Gavin Franz, Ender Tumminaro, Julia Franz, and Alexander Franz, and her nieces and nephew: Raymond Knapp III (spouse: Tamera Knapp), Malinda Reznik (spouse: Vlad Reznik), Megan Knapp, and Molly Painter.
Memorial visitation Saturday August 27, 2022 from 3:00pm until time of service 6:30pm at The Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 333 South Roselle Rd., Roselle. Cremation was private at The Countryside Crematory. Info www.countrysidefuneralhomes.com or (630)529-5751
