Cornelius “Bud” VandenBos, 95, of Streamwood died March 25, 2015. Bud was the beloved husband of the late Eleanore (nee Gorman); loving dad of Mitchel (Susan), Mary (Larry) Piekarz and Ellen (Dan) Walsh; proud grandpa of Joe (Courtney Piekarz), Brian (Rebecca) VandenBos, Tom (Shelly) Piekarz, Ken Walsh, Jason VandenBos, Betsy Piekarz, Meghan (fiancée Chris) Walsh, Natalie VandenBos and Emily Piekarz; cherished great grandpa of Madeline, Benjamin, Mackenzie, Blake and Maya; dear brother of Charles, the late Ann, Robert, Henry and Edward.
A Navy veteran Bud was also a musician aboard the USS Mississippi. Bud was an accomplished private pilot, he built experimental aircrafts and was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter 101. Bud worked with Sooline Rail Road for 40 years.
Visitation for Bud Saturday March 28, 10:00a.m. until the time of service 12:00pm Noon at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Road) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Interment Queen of Heaven.
