Claire A. Hanson

Claire A. Hanson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born on Friday, November 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, Claire touched the hearts of many with her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.

Claire was a devoted mother to her children, Jack (Jackie Espin) Hanson Jr., Kristina (Mark) Wiese, and Paul (Mary Beth) Hanson. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Ian (Nikole), Justin (Brennah), Kaylee, Kara, Mary, Paul, and Emily, and as a cherished great-grandmother to Noah, Landon, Grace, Chloe, Phoebe, Emery and Savannah. Claire was also a devoted aunt to many. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless.

Predeceased by her loving parents, Harry and Clara Johnson, and by her devoted husband, Jack Hanson Sr., Claire shared a wonderful life and 58 beautiful years of marriage with Jack.

Claire had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. She was an avid reader, always found with a book by her side. Her creativity shone through in her sewing projects. Claire was also an extraordinary baker, often filling her home with the aroma of homemade bread and pastries. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautifully tended garden, where she found peace and happiness. Additionally, her dogs were more than pets to Claire; they were her faithful companions, bringing her great comfort and joy throughout her life.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service 11:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL 60107. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter, reflecting Claire's lifelong love for her canine companions.
